What's the BUZZ about?

 

Buzz Brass’ mission is to promote chamber music for brass ensemble worldwide, through concerts and recordings featuring a high level of musical interpretation.

Buzz consists of two trumpets, a horn, a trombone and a bass trombone. In addition to carefully selected classics from the musical repertoire for brass quintet, the musicians perform their original compositions and exclusive arrangements. Buzz turns every show into a surprising, dazzling, enticing experience for all audiences!

Main Achievements

 

To date, Buzz’s achievements include:

  • 500 concerts and musitheatrical shows presented all over Canada;
  • 300 primary and secondary schools visited;
  • Many celebrated appearances in cultural institutions such as the city of Montreal’s Maisons de la culture network, the Palais Montcalm in Québec City, the Hector-Charland Theatre and the Orford Art Centre, among numerous others;
  • 100,000 spectators reached;
  • OPUS Prize 2007 – Production of the Year / Young Audiences for the show UnBUZZlievable! The History of Music. (Other finalists had included, among others, both the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the chamber group I Musici de Montréal);
  • Three critically-acclaimed albums;
  • Several musical performances broadcast on radio and television;
  • A performance at the Louvre in Paris, France, as part of Musicora 2008.
